My name is Jonathan Hilder and I have run Piers Photography for over 25 years and have a real passion for my work. I work with an assistant and a select band of photographers who I have worked with for a number of years and know the style and way in which I like Piers Photography to work.
Having experience in organising and running large events I do understand the pressures which everyone feels on those big days. I have learnt to help make customers events run smoothly and work with everyone in a calm and unhurried manner to get the best out of ever situation.
We love weddings but are equally at home on a horse yard or black tie ball or photographing real estate. The Piers Photography studio is based in Naphill near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, deep in the heart of the Chilterns.
Having moved from the film world in 2004 I now shoot exclusively with Sony professional equipment, some may ask why Sony? They have over the last few years become the leaders in digital imaging and have passion for making smaller, better cameras that are world beaters. It is my belief that it is the photographer not the equipment that makes the shot. The newer digital equipment just allows us all to take pictures in lower light than before and at higher resolution thereby getting better pictures which is what we want for my customers.
Due to my experience we always have backup equipment (you never forget the wedding when cameras fail, you do need a drink afterwards but backups saved the day and the bride and groom did not know). We also have full insurance and my gear is PAT tested and have cover in case I am ill. We think that these are important issues that customers should consider.
Whilst we were originally known mainly as a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer, we now have extensive experience in so much more. We have 8 areas of photography that we cover and each has its own style but they are all really interlinked and give us an understanding of different ways to shoot other commissions. These are:
So skills learnt in my real estate work can be used in churches at a wedding and such like. This coupled with my enjoyment of organising large functions means that I am also happy to become Master of Ceremonies if required and help with the running of your wedding. Having shot over 300 weddings means that I see most things and can work to ensure that yours will run smoothly or know how to deal with any problems.
You will find I am always looking to make sure you have a plan B just in case of rain or something unexpected which comes for my experience of running very large events.I am fortunate and feel honoured to receive this kind of feedback from my clients
